Vietnam L'Orient Extrême

VIETNAMESE MAP

This documentary film is a journey out of time. It is neither political nor controversial, it is empassioned. The camera, as well as the commentator's words express the author's irrational attachment to VIETNAM, its scenery, its legends and its people.

It starts in the Gorges of the Red River, where theViet people originale from, and it finishes on the isle of Phu Quôc which is the ultimate , vietnamese territory off Cambodia in the Gulf of Siam. It goes through the Bay of Halong, the Mandarine Road, the Pass of Clouds, the Trung Son mountain range and the Delta of Mekong.

Just like the story-tellers of yore, Dominique GRANDVUINET invites us to foffow him along the paths of this nomadic life to one of those shores which is both close and remote, and where geographers , historians and poets meet in the alchemy of knowledge and imagination.
